Volunteer Opportunities in Hunting Ridge

There are countless ways to get out in the neighborhood, interact with other residents, and put in some volunteer time doing things you enjoy and that improve our community. Here are just a few:
  • Citizens on Patrol (COP) - drive through the neighborhood for any 2 hours a month, keep a lookout and report anything suspicious. This is a great way to get to know every nook and cranny of Hunting Ridge.
  • COP Walks - Sponsored by the South West District Police - several police men and women join residents to patrol a neighborhood on foot each week to keep our streets safe. People from other neighborhoods join our walks, and Hunting Ridge residents often join in their COP walks. Walking in other neighborhoods is a great way to learn more about your city and to support your district as a whole.
  • Happy Diggers - This is a group of gardeners who join with the children at the elementary school to work on demonstration gardens and a nature walk.
  • Block Captains - Each block in Hunting Ridge has an assigned Block Captain whose role is to be the liaison to the several committees that serve the Community Assembly. Block Captains distribute announcement fliers and alert the Welcoming Committee of new residents.
  • Organizing Community Events - The Community sponsors many different events each year including but not limited to an annual picnic, a bake sale, a yard sale. There are always opportunities to help out with organizing these events.
