Retail and Shopping Nearby

Hunting Ridge has plenty of grocery, retail, and hardware stores in very close proximity - ranging from walking distance to a mile or two away at most.  Beyond that, we are 5 minutes away from Catonsville, just 15 minutes from downtown Baltimore, and 20 minutes from either Columbia or Towson.

Here's a brief list of the retail and grocery stores in our immediate area:

Grocers:

  • Giant Foods
  • Shoppers Food Warehouse
  • Great Wall (Asian)
  • Safeway
  • H-Mart (Asian)

Edmondson Village Shopping Center

Originally opened in 1947, this shopping center drew huge crowds in its day. It is scheduled for a significant overhaul as the nearby Uplands development is built.

40 West commercial district

An endless number of stores and eateries is just an easy few minute's drive west on Route 40.

Security Mall and Surrounding Retail Area

A quick drive out Cooks Lane to Security Blvd will bring many more retail and big box stores, including Security Square Mall (link).

Paradise

Just inside the beltway at Frederick Road, this community of single family homes and row houses also has several blocks of retail stores and business, nearly all locally owned.

Catonsville

Self-named "Music City," Catonsville has real small town appeal with many locally owned stores and restaurants.

Woodlawn

Northwest of Hunting Ridge, this is yet another gem of a community with a Main Street feel.

Branching out from the above list, there is downtown Baltimore, of course. Also relatively close by are Ellicott City, Columbia, Towson, Annapolis, and Washington, DC.

Nearby hardware stores include both a Lowes and Home Depot within several miles of Hunting Ridge
